Retirees Are Enjoying Giving Back By Playing Santa Claus

Many retirees are at a loss what they can do that has a purpose. many retirees are trying on the red suit and playing Santa Claus for this Christmas season. These not so old men find that playing Santa Claus can give both them and others a great sense of joy.

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) December 7, 2005 -- This year Planetsanta.com has seen a huge upturn in first-time Santa Clauses. Many of the Santa Suits are being sold to newcomers. "Customers are telling us that they want to do charity work, do something nice for people in their community,, or simply to have fun while making Christmas nice for children” Said Richard Williamson – President of Planetsanta.com.

Many retirees find themselves lost at what they can do during the holidays. When they were employed they were busy raising a family or working, but now they want to do more. Many of them are putting on the red suit. The red Santa Suit that is. "Many of them start out by playing Santa Claus for their church or social club, and then have so much fun doing it, that they start doing even more appearances," continues Williamson. Once they get a reputation for being a great Santa Claus, they get requests from all kinds of people. Word spreads fast, faster than a speeding sleigh.

Many people are pulling out all the stops for Santa Suits. “We have customers buying professional suits along with bells, bags, beards, and boots,” said Williamson. The typical customer is getting all the extras with the Santa suit instead of getting a low-end partial costume. “We start selling Santa Suits in September and continue through the end of December,” continued Williamson. This year interest is definitely starting earlier. Many suits were starting to sell in the late summer months.

This trend seems to indicate an increase in Christmas spirit, and in a softening of people’s attitudes toward the commercialization of Christmas. People, especially retirees, are trying to give some cheer back to those around them.

Santa Claus and his red suit will always be popular. If current Santa Suit sales are an indicator, he shows no sign of slowing down.
