”I get emails from men asking me how they can get in touch with women who are sports fans. I’ve even received photos from eligible bachelors asking me to help them make a sports love connection,” said Ivette Ricco from her San Francisco Bay Area home. “I never intended to move the site in this direction, but the this seems a perfect fit and a great way for eligible men to meet real women who love sports.”
“So many men and women seem to be looking for love in all the sports places, and now we’re going to make it easier for them to find that perfect person,” Ricco said.
Ivette Ricco launched Femmefan.com five years ago when she realized there was a need for a forum dedicated to female sports fans' interests. Now Femmefan.com logs an average of 2.3 million visits each month, says Ricco. They have also logged an average of 120,000 unique visits monthly during the first six months of this year, indicating a large number who revisit the site.
Recently Femmefan.com has expanded beyond its magazine content to partner with the Los Angles Dodgers’ WIN (Women’s Initiative Network) program to present a breakfast networking meeting at Dodger Stadium.
Femmefan.com also held the first ever, “Real Women Love Sports Nite” at Ricky’s Sports Bar, the #2 Sports Bar in the nation according to Sports Illustrated.
Just recently Femmefan.com added Sport Girl Apparel to the site in order to offer fashionable female fan apparel.
Ricco goes on to say, “The future of Femmefan is bright. We are developing relationships with sponsors seeking to capture this overlooked market. We will continue to look for innovative ways to improve and enhance Femmefan.com while providing nitty-gritty sports content.”
First and foremost FemmeFan.com is dedicated to providing that "nitty-gritty."
