Designer Christmas Trees Hit the Hamptons

In the east coast region known as the “playground of the rich and famous,” generic Christmas trees just won’t do. This year the must-have item on every well to do Hamptonite’s shopping list is a designer Christmas tree from C. Whitmore Gardens.

AMAGANSETT, NY (PRWEB) December 9, 2005 -- In the east coast region known as the “playground of the rich and famous,” generic Christmas trees just won’t do! This year the must-have item on every well to do Hamptonite’s shopping list is a designer Christmas tree from C. Whitmore Gardens. The upscale Amagansett garden center – in the neighborhood of luminaries like Jerry Seinfeld, Alec Baldwin and Renee Zelwegger – debuted their limited quantity selection of Oregon’s Noble Vintage™ Noble Firs this month and the response from the notoriously demanding and discerning community has been overwhelming positive.

Featured in Newsweek this holiday season, the trees have the distinction of being the first Christmas trees ever to be marketed under a designer brand name. They come from Oregon’s Willamette valley wine country and are cultivated under the exacting supervision of expert growers with more than 100 years of experience. Billed as “The World’s First Designer Christmas Tree,” each fir is adorned with an Oregon’s Noble Vintage™ hangtag; a nod to the wine region. The symmetrical, lush blue-green with soft upturned needles and stiff branches are nurtured for an average of ten years and they can last up to 90 days with proper care.

Of the approximately 550,000 Christmas trees harvested in Oregon, only a select 3,000 will qualify to meet the Oregon’s Noble Vintage™ standards. From those limited quantities, 100 were specially designated for C. Whitmore Gardens. “We’re lucky to have the Hamptons and Long Island exclusive on these stunning Christmas trees,” said Chini Alarco Whitmore, an owner of C. Whitmore Gardens. The price tag is a little higher than your typical tree, but that doesn’t seem to be an obstacle to the Hamptons crowd. “Whether you’re talking about oceanfront homes, luxury automobiles or designer clothing, our customers are used to paying a premium for the very best.” She adds, “They recognize the unparalleled quality of these ‘perfect’ trees and they’ve even been calling in advance to specially reserve them!”
