Call for Entries: The Manic Mommies Want Your Digital Holiday Card Outtakes
Experienced parents everywhere know that capturing a single photo for the family holiday card—where all children are looking perfectly adorable—is no simple feat. Producers of the online web log and audio cast "Manic Mommies" are launching a national call for entries for digital holiday card outtakes. Parents interested in sharing their funniest outtakes can send photos in jpeg format (medium resolution recommended). An online photo gallery will be created using the best photos as judged by the Manic Mommies editors.
Boston, Ma. (PRWEB) December 9, 2005 -- Coordinating outfits. Check. Haircut. Check. Batteries in camera. Check. Tree up. Lights on. Fire in the fireplace. Children enter stage left. “OK,” Mom says. “Smile pretty.”
While it seems like an easy task, experienced parents everywhere know that capturing a single photo for the family holiday card—where all children are looking perfectly adorable—is no simple feat. Across America, parents have likely spent the last few weeks wavering between bribes and threats, jumping up and down, waving silly toys and contorting their own faces in hopes of making little junior smile.
“The maternal desire to capture the perfect photo of your children at the holidays is quite remarkable,” says Kristin Brandt, a writer and producer of the online web log and audio cast Manic Mommies. “When creating my own holiday card, I realized there must be countless parents out there doing the same thing: deleting dozens of photos where one child is walking away from the camera while the other one has her eyes closed, or worse, a finger up her nose.”
Kristin and her fellow Manic Mommy, Erin Kane, decided it would be great fun if parents bucked tradition and sent their outtakes as holiday cards this year. Inspired by their own comical experiences, the two working moms—already generally overcommitted and overstretched—decided to launch a national call for entries on their most recent audio cast “Manic Xmas.” All digital photos submitted will be posted online in a gallery to remain live through January 2006.
Parents interested in sharing their funniest outtakes can send photos in jpeg format (medium resolution recommended). All photos become the property of the Manic Mommies web site owners and can’t be returned.
