VisualSonics is a leading developer of high-resolution in vivo micro imaging systems devised specifically for non-invasive small animal research. As a growing company, VisualSonics needed a CRM solution to track their growing sales effort and customer base. Originally selecting Saleslogix, they soon switched to Microsoft CRM 1.2, and now they are migrating to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0.

A major part of the appeal of Microsoft CRM for VisualSonics was the .Net platform as VisualSonics needed extensive customization to provide a close alignment between CRM and the company’s business processes. “Since Microsoft’s CRM is based on the .Net platform and has been designed to be extendable, we have been able to make many enhancements to Microsoft’s CRM ourselves.” says Miroslav Pendev, VisualSonics’ IT Director.
When VisualSonics first implemented Microsoft CRM 1.2 they started with 10 users. Now they have 45 people using the system all of the time. “Microsoft CRM is the back bone of our sales process. We feed all of our leads into the system and then track everything from start to finish. It assists us in determining which marketing efforts work and don’t work,” says Mr. Chakowicz. “We have 15 outside sales people who are out of the office all of the time and they continually use CRM through the Microsoft Outlook client. We are capturing key information about sales activity and progress which allows us to have complete visibility into our pipeline anytime we want.”
