New Book Reveals Experiences of an Australian Migrant to Sweden

KARLSTAD, SWEDEN (PRWEB) December 11, 2005 -- Robin Bell looks at life in Sweden from an Australian viewpoint. His new book, How Swede It Is, is a whimsical look at life – Swedish style – through the eyes of a newly arrived migrant from Australia.
Apart from the obvious differences in lifestyle between Sweden and Australia, such as the language and the climate, Robin Bell gives an Australian angle on such esoteric subjects as rabbit jumping, soup in a tube and the ubiquitous Swedish queue system.
With a mixture of factual information and tongue-in-the-cheek personal observations Robin Bell provides the reader with useful advice on surviving the cultural shock experienced by many migrants to a new country. He looks at the Swedish traditions of Midsummer and Lucia and explores the history and mythology associated with these celebrations. In the same book the reader can learn about the Swedish Loch Ness Monster, the dangers of trolls on the Swedish Forests and how Santa Claus cools off in summer.
