Irish singer-songwriter Onya has a triumphant first tour of America.

(PRWEB) December 11, 2005 -- Irish singing sensation star Onya has just returned from a highly successful tour of America, her second tour of the East Coast and her first tour of the bright lights of California. This young woman from County Donegal, Ireland played a total of sixteen dates on the tour, including prestigious venues in Hollywood, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. She played all original sets and the US audience loved her raunchy, punchy songs, her amazing voice and her surfchick look. She also received radio play in LA and New York, and was instantly rebooked for various original gigs in 2006.

Onya hails from the tiny surf town of Bundoran, and was a national surf champion at the age of 16. From a young age, she was performing at her parent’s bar, a haven from the nomadic surfers and musicians that were drawn to the perfect waves of Bundoran. Ans so her songs reflect the bohemian upbringing, the mix of the traditional and the modern, and the rebellious spirit of the wave riders.

After a hugely successful run in Ireland’s ‘Pop Idol’, she began working on her debut album, and then the US tour came a-calling.

Onya returns to the touring circuit in January with a short European Tour of Germany and Holland, followed by a return to the USA from February until late March.
