Avotus Corporation today announced that a major California-based biotechnology company has purchased Avotus ICM Usage Management.

Avotus Corporation, the leading provider of communications expense management (TEM) and e-Procurement solutions, today announced that a major California-based biotechnology company has purchased Avotus ICM Usage Management. The Avotus software will help the company manage its telephony usage by providing call accounting and detail recording, and identification of unusual calls and calling patterns, as well as call traffic and trunk utilization information. The company will also use the system to provide “911” emergency call notification and reporting.

Avotus ICM delivers online, Web-based management reports to telecom managers, and customized reports to line managers for their areas of responsibility. The call detail reports feature graphical highlights and offer drilldown capabilities to facilitate further analysis of usage patterns. Department-level reports, which are generated only when the usage management system detects conditions that are out of the norm, highlight the calls that require further analysis so managers can easily identify and correct the problem.

The customer will use the Avotus ICM Usage Management system to collect data from several Nortel PBXs, as well as a Cisco CallManager, which supports the company’s Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone network. The 911 monitoring system supports both the company’s traditional and VoIP phones by sending notifications through pagers and emails to designated local management in the event of an emergency situation.
