We use PRWeb™ for our own press release distribution, and we know they share our commitment to reducing poverty by increasing access to microfinance. Their generous contributions will have a significant impact on our ability to bring microfinance to more people than ever before.
(PRWEB) December 15, 2005 –
PRWeb™, the leader in online visibility for press release distribution, announced today it is making a financial commitment to Unitus, an organization which helps alleviate poverty worldwide by increasing access to microfinance.
Unitus seeks out and partners with the highest-potential microfinance institutions (MFIs) in the world and provides them with capital assistance and expert consulting services. With this support, Unitus’s MFI partners are able to serve exponentially more poor clients. Unitus also aims to demonstrate that MFIs can be run as profitable, large-scale, poverty-focused businesses with links to local capital markets. Unitus’s seven MFI partners currently serve more than 500,000 clients in India, Kenya and Mexico.
Recognizing Unitus’s success in selecting MFI partners and facilitating their rapid growth, PRWeb™ has pledged a monthly donation to Unitus. These contributions will come from revenue generated by PRWeb’s latest product offerings, with a portion of the fees going to Unitus.
The new product offerings include PRWeb’s EyeCaster technology, which showcases PRWeb™ news releases on a network of business websites, blogs and a network of over 2,000 general interest sites. The EyeCaster distribution enhancements are available to all users upgrading their distribution to the new $120 distribution level or above.
By ordering one of PRWeb’s new packages, PRWeb™ users will be contributing to Unitus’s and PRWeb’s joint goal of dramatically increasing the number of poor people with access to microcredit.
“Microfinance provides a sustainable solution toward alleviating global poverty,” said David McInnis, founder and CEO of PRWeb™. “With a loan of as little as $100, many of the world’s poor can start or expand a sustainable business to feed their families. Our partnership with Unitus will increase microfinance services to the poor in India, Africa and Latin America.”
“I’m thrilled that Unitus can count on PRWeb’s support,” said Unitus president and CEO Geoff Davis. “We use PRWeb™ for our own press release distribution, and we know they share our commitment to reducing poverty by increasing access to microfinance. Their generous contributions will have a significant impact on our ability to bring microfinance to more people than ever before.”
