Founded in 1975 by Arthur Stafford, the company began as a machine shop in nearby Woburn with a mission to supply shaft collars and related mechanical components to the power transmission industry. They grew to six employees that first year.

Today, Stafford Manufacturing Corp. occupies a 30,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility in Wilmington which they moved into in 1982 and now services many industries including medical instrumentation, exercise equipment, packaging machinery, automation systems, material handling conveyors, and more. They now boast over 3,000 catalogued products including special components.
