Congressional Expert Sounds Off on Pornography
Jill C. Manning, the marriage and family therapist who has testified before Congress concerning the harmful effects of pornography, will appear in the CP80 forums December 16 from 2-4 p.m. (MDT) to answer questions concerning the harmful effects of pornography and specifically Internet pornography.
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) December 16, 2005 -- Jill C. Manning, the marriage and family therapist who has testified before Congress concerning the harmful effects of pornography, will appear in the CP80 forums, December 16 from 2-4 p.m. (MDT) to answer questions concerning the harmful effects of pornography and specifically Internet pornography.
"It is critical that the public become aware of the many negative effects and trends Internet pornography is having on marriages and families,” said Jill Manning, “I look forward to helping individuals understand what the pornography industry might not want them to know.”
A large part of the CP80 Internet Channel Initiative is educating the public about the Internet and pornography. CP80 hopes to increase people’s awareness of the social, legal, medical and technological issues surrounding Internet pornography through a series of guest appearances in their forums located at www.cp80.org/forums/.
Matthew Yarro, Vice President of Marketing for CP80, said, “People need to understand the issues—they need to understand exactly how pornography is affecting them, and how the Internet has only aggravated an already dangerous situation.

Jill Manning is the first guest to appear in the CP80 forums. CP80 hopes to announce a schedule of other noted experts whom will appear in the forums in 2006.

Jill C. Manning, M.S., is a Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in research and clinical work related to pornography and problematic sexual behavior. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, she is currently completing her Ph.D. at Brigham Young University in Utah and was selected to be a visiting Social Science Fellow at The Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. She is featured in the Standing Up television documentary on pornography and has been a guest on several radio talk shows.
