Employee Satisfaction Normative Database by Hospital Departments

HR Solutions, Inc., a Chicago-based management consulting firm, has recently developed a new Employee Satisfaction Normative Database by hospital departments.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) December 19, 2005 -- HR Solutions, Inc., a Chicago-based management consulting firm, has recently developed a new Employee Satisfaction Normative Database by hospital departments, which revealed some departmental surprises and interesting benchmarks.

With this data, we are now able to identify which departments within healthcare organizations exhibit the lowest or highest desire to be treated at their place of work if they were in need of medical care. To put this data into some perspective, the highest of these departments (CEO, VP, Directors) displayed 35 percentage points more of a desire to be treated at the organization than the lowest-scoring department (ICU). These results are astonishing, since some of the most vital healthcare departments, dealing directly with patients, find their organization as an undesirable place to seek medical care.

The list below depicts the five highest scoring healthcare departments.
“If I was in need of medical care, I would want to be treated at this organization.”

Healthcare Department:
CEO, Vice President, Director: 82% Favorable Normative Score
Human Resources: 7% Favorable Normative Score
IT: 75% Favorable Normative Score
Finance Accounting: 73% Favorable Normative Score
CCU – CSI CU Cardiology: 72% Favorable Normative Score

In contrast, the following list shows the five lowest scoring departments:

Healthcare Department
ICU: 47% Favorable Normative Score
Critical – Intensive Care: 48% Favorable Normative Score
Pharmacy: 52% Favorable Normative Score
Respiratory: 55% Favorable Normative Score Food and Nutrition Services: 56%Favorable Normative Score

This new normative data provides healthcare organizations with a better external benchmark to gauge their organizations’ employee satisfaction on departments within their organization.

The National Normative Healthcare research included roughly 475,000 employees in the Healthcare Industry all surveyed within the last three years by HR Solutions, Inc., a Chicago-based management consulting firm that specializes in Employee Satisfaction Surveys.
