Planet Beauty Raises Funds for Susan G. Komen Foundation

Planet Beauty teamed up with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to raise money for Breast Cancer research at this year's annual Race for The Cure in Newport Beach, CA.

Newport Beach, CA (PRWEB) December 17, 2005 -- Planet Beauty, California's most unique Beauty Retail Center, teamed up with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to raise $3063.10 for Breast Cancer research at this year's 14th Annual Race for the Cure, a 5K walk held on September 25th at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, CA.

Planet Beauty had a great turnout—thirty people participated and helped to raise money including employees and their friends and family members. The participants also set up donation boxes in all of Planet Beauty's Orange County locations for customers to contribute directly to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

As a company that employs a large number of women and who has a largely female customer base, Planet Beauty is very concerned with getting the message out that early detection is the key to beating breast cancer.

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is credited as the world’s leading catalyst in the fight against breast cancer building awareness and raising funds for research and community outreach programs for over 20 years.

"This year, we are excited to have been involved as a company in such a worthy cause," said Carol Choi, Accounting Manager for Planet Beauty and organizer of Planet Beauty's team for the Race.
