noo.com, a one-stop portal dedicated to browsing events, group planning and purchasing tickets for New Year's events, begins its first countdown into 2006.

Formerly NYCNYE.com, the new resource which launched October 2005, has been soliciting event details from hundreds of New York City venues over the last three months. noo has also made a move to offer its services in other destination cities. The listing service features New Year’s Eve events for both adults and children in New York City, Miami Beach and Toronto, offering events in many different categories, such as nightclubs, restaurants, cruises, theatres, hotels and comedy clubs.
Events publicized by noo cater to all ages and preferences and are held at a wide range of venues including new nightclubs like Nest and Rock Candy, cruises such as Bateaux New York or City Lights, and other venues - Planet Hollywood, the New Victory Theater, Tribeca Rooftop, the Altman Building, and St. Bartholomew's Church, to name a few. A sample menu of New Year's treats includes helicopter tours, prix fixe dinners, luxury cruises, theatrical productions, concerts and themed parties.
“Our first year was a great success but we changed our name to a more memorable one, improved our site’s design, and offered more advertising options to event organizers”, says Mahdad Taheri, founder and designer of the site.
noo.com has opened up the doors to anyone wishing to list their event, so long as it is something festive. Venues are presented with a full administrative system for ticketing and a complete online profile that includes a detailed description of the event’s appeal, images, animated invitations, menus and maps. “Users and venues have been very receptive to the new site and our name has definitely been easier to remember,” says Taheri. The site also presents an annual top ten list called the noo Stars which highlights venues that are making the extra creative effort to turn New Year’s into a memorable experience.
