Myrtle Beach, S.C. (PRWEB) December 18, 2005 -- Grande Dunes Golf Course, located in Myrtle Beach, S. C., and Tidewater Golf Club in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., are both on Golfweek’s 2006 list of the nation’s top 100 residential golf courses. The list, entitled “America’s Best Residential Golf Courses,” was compiled by Golfweek's national golf course rating team, and published for distribution to subscribers only in November, 2005.

“It is gratifying to have Golfweek recognize the care and effort that goes into ensuring a great golf experience at Grande Dunes and Tidewater” said Bob Swezey, Executive Vice President of Golf Operations. “Burroughs & Chapin Golf Management is committed to ensuring that our golf courses are in great shape and managed professionally. We’re building a reputation that will be essential to the future expansion of Burroughs & Chapin Golf Management.”

Tidewater began receiving recognition upon its opening in 1990 when both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine named it “Best New Public Course In America.” Over the years, the golf course has continued to receive recognition, and has become the most decorated course along the Grand Strand. Set high on a bluff overlooking the Cherry Grove Inlet, Tidewater is routed through a 560-acre residential community and offers spectacular views that have earned it the nickname of the “Pebble Beach of the East.”

Grande Dunes opened in 2001 and was named to Golf Magazine’s list of the top 10 new courses in the nation. It was also on Golf Digest’s list of nominations for “Best New Course of 2001,” and was “Best Golf Course” in The (Myrtle Beach) Sun News annual “Best of the Beach” reader poll. Built on the Intracoastal Waterway side of the 2,200-acre Grande Dunes community, the golf course offers wide fairways and large greens, as well as stunning views of the Intracoastal Waterway and the forest beyond.
