Slain Officer Hank Nava’s Family To Get Money From Hockey Game Showdown

The Ft. Worth Police Department has challenged the Plano Kings hockey team to an exhibition game. This game will be held on January 7th, 2006, and the proceeds from the game will go directly to the family of Hank Nava.

Ft. Worth, TX (PRWEB) December 18, 2005 -- The Ft. Worth Police Department has challenged the Plano Kings hockey team to an exhibition game. This game will be held on January 7th, 2006, and the proceeds from the game will go directly to the family of Hank Nava.

On November 29th, 2005 Officer Hank Nava of the Fort Worth Police Department was shot while serving an arrest warrant. Sadly, Officer Nava passed away 2 days later, leaving his wife and two children behind. “We want to make this hockey game a success; we want to provide his family with as much assistance as we possible can. By selling as many tickets as possible we can make a difference, and provide for a fun night for families everywhere” Says Dan Stalfire, player and coach of the Plano Kings.

“This game is a great opportunity to help those who truly need it, and at the same time we get to play against a team made of police officers, who we admire and respect.” says Dan Stalfire.

The game will begin at 5:15pm, and will be held at the Fort Worth Convention Center. Immediately following the charity game the Brahmas will play the Youngstown Steelhounds. The ticket price is $10 and is good for both games.

“I was approached by the Fort Worth Brahmas with the challenge, and we gladly accepted. This will be fun, exciting, and let’s face it the opportunity to be competitive with police officers is not something we want to miss. The proceeds from the tickets we sell will be given to the Nava family after the game,” according to Mr. Stalfire.
