Overflow of Donations

Food Drive Donation Site Overflowing -- Overflow Being Stored in Warehouse.

(PRWEB) December 20, 2005 -- Creative Media, NW 17th in Portland, the office lobby is overflowing with donations for the Great Holiday Food Drive. Creative Media Representative, Jonathan Agee, says that four additional pallets of food are being stored in Creative Media's Warehouse.

Creative Media is just one of the 20 Portland Metro Area Donation Drop Sites for the 5th Annual Great Holiday Food Drive. Sterling Savings Bank among other respected and well-known Portland area businesses, such as Easystreet, are accepting donations for the Great Holiday Food Drive now through December 22nd. With 20 area locations, donating to the 5th annual Great Holiday Food Drive, benefiting the Oregon Food Bank, is easy.

Community support for this 5th annual event is enormous. Businesses from around the Portland Metro area, even industry competitors, are working together to make this even a success.

According to recent news reports, right now, Oregon is one of the "hungriest" states in the US. With the soaring unemployment rate here in Oregon, and the Holidays, there couldn't be a better time to donate food items to those in need.

The Annual Great Holiday Food Drive took root in 2001 during the aftermath of 9/11. The goal of the annual event was to make a contribution to our local community with the idea that ‘if we help here at home, it will allow needed resources to be used elsewhere as needed’.

Over the past four years the Great Holiday Food Drive has raised over 32,000 lbs of food for the Oregon Food Bank. This year, to celebrate our 5th year, we're setting a goal to raise over 50,000 lbs as well as having two Benefit Concerts the last day of the food drive!

Help us celebrate in a collaboration to raise food and awareness for the hungry here in the Portland Metropolitan Area. Donate canned foods December 12th through the 22nd, 2005 at any one of our Donation Drop Site Locations around the Portland Metro Area. When you donate at a Drop Site Location, you'll get to enter the Raffle to win one of several great prizes; including a Weekend Stay in Cannon Beach.

Then, join us the last day of the food drive, Thursday, December 22nd for Live Music and Food at one of our Portland Metro Benefit Concerts:
