Book Arts Enthusiast Starts Project to Add Book Binding Books to the Internet for Everyone to Read

A Kentucky book binding enthusiast was frustrated with the lack of information on the internet about the subject of book binding. He created his own website with early 1900 bookbinding titles for all to read.

Mount Washington, KY (PRWEB) December 21, 2005 -- Marcus Harbert, a book arts enthusiast and Sullivan University student, has started adding book binding books to his website for anyone to read at www.aboutbookbinding.com.

After unsuccessfully searching the Internet for websites that would teach him book binding techniques Marcus decided to take things in his own hands. He started by creating a website with the 1897 book The Art of Bookbinding by London bookbinder Joseph W. Zaehnsdorf.

After finishing The Art of Bookbinding Marcus still felt there was a gaping hole in the materials available online for the bookbinding enthusiasts. He then found and added the 1902 title Bookbinding and the Care of Books, a handbook for amateur bookbinders and Librarians by Douglas Cockerell.

Marcus says that he will continue adding book binding titles to the internet as long as he can find new and interesting materials to add for all to enjoy. He also hopes this information will be beneficial to Librarians and book arts enthusiast everywhere.
