(PRWEB) December 24, 2005 -- A Starry Night, the 5th Annual Celebration of Excellence fundraiser, will be held on Friday, February 3, 2006 from 7pm-11pm at the Foundry at Puritan Mill. With all proceeds benefiting Celebration of Excellence, the evening’s festivities will feature beer and wine provide by The Grape, fantastic fare from Avenue Catering, unique finds at the silent auction and raffle, special guest speakers and music by The Neon’s.
“This annual event is our main outreach to the individuals in the community concerned with making a difference in the lives of Georgia's youth in foster care,” says Celebration of Excellence Project Director Susan Allison. “Furthermore, it allows us to educate the public, highlight some of the wonderful success stories of some of our students who are excelling in their educational efforts and inspire others to become involved in the effort to make sure every young person in foster care has the opportunity to continue their education and go on to lead productive and enriching lives."
The Celebration of Excellence program strives to empower Georgia’s youth in foster care to achieve true adult independence and self-sufficiency through academic scholarships, mentoring, advocacy, temporary financial assistance for transitioning into their own homes and an annual commencement event where graduates receive certificates of recognition for their outstanding achievements, gifts, and scholarships.
Tickets, priced from $65 in advance and $85 at the door, are on sale at www.CelebrationofExcellence.org. For more information, media passes, interviews, contact Susan Allison at (404) 572-6170.
