Woodstock Couple Gives Update on Their Tsunami Work with Auroville Community in South India

A Woodstock couple gives an update on their Tsunami work with Auroville Community in South India. The short audiovisual presentation will take place at Mirabai Books in Woodstock, NY at 5: 30 p.m. on Dec. 27.

Woodstock, NY (PRWEB) December 24, 2005 -- Against the advice of friends and family, Julian and Wendy Lines headed off to South India as scheduled last January, ten days after the Tsunami struck the coast of Tamil Nadu.

They heard first hand how the people living where they had planned to stay were floated up to the ceiling in the oncoming ocean wave.

They witnessed the devastation to the beach communities and heard numerous stories of loss and heroism.

Reflecting on the past year and the subsequent natural disasters around the globe, Julian and Wendy will make a presentation at Mirabai Books on December 27th, the day after the anniversary of the Tsunami and recall on the spontaneous outpouring of generosity and the lessons learned in the aftermath.

Those who attend will receive a Tsunamika, a small doll made from scraps of cloth, symbolizing the effort to turn the tragedy into an opportunity for some of the survivors.

Short audiovisual presentation. Voluntary Donation. ā
