Cambodia Gets Yellow Pages in Khmer Language

The first ever Yellow Pages business directory in Khmer language will be published by Interquess Enterprises in second quarter of 2006. The Khmer Yellow Pages will be available as a printed book, an online directory and a desktop applicatino for Windows, like the english sister publication "Cambodia Yellow Pages".

(PRWEB) December 25, 2005 -- Interquess Enterprises, the publisher of Cambodia Yellow Pages, announced yesterday a new Yellow Pages publication written entirely in the Khmer language.

"Yellow Pages Khmer" was voted to be the official name by 1300 users in a survey conducted recently during a trade fair. "We have been waiting for the right time to publish the first business directory 100% in the Khmer language" said Steve Chika, the sales manager for Yellow Pages.

Omry Revach, the general manager of Interquess adds "The new Khmer Unicode allows us, finally, to technically produce a high quality business directory such as the Cambodia Yellow Pages 2005-2006 (currently in circulation), which was not possible before now". Omry continues, "This is a natural development as a country should not be without a Yellow Pages telephone directory in the local language. For instance, Thailand and Vietnam have their own local language Yellow Pages which has at least a 10 times higher circulation than the English version of Yellow Pages reaching a broader target market and different advertisers".

It is nowadays necessary, particularly in the workplace, to be able to search using Yellow Pages, Internet and maps. The local market is starting to understand that knowing and using these business tools is the best way to save time and money, and the best way to compare products and services."

The Yellow Pages Khmer will also be the first of its kind on the Internet (www.yellowpages.com.kh) and as a desktop application for Windows.
