These spots highlight that Tucsonans have the opportunity to nominate and vote for Tucson’s outstanding women entrepreneurs. Awards will be given to five local business women who will be honored for their contributions as valued members and leaders of our community, for delivering excellent customer service, developing innovative models of business or for being model employers.

The community is invited to nominate local business women owners who exemplify the ingenuity, creativeness, tenacity and courage needed to run their own business – whether she is a consultant or saleswomen working out of her home, a techno-guru successful at online auctions, or the woman who owns the corner beauty shop.

The prestigious Tucson Woman Business Owner of the Year Award will be given to a woman who has used creative initiatives to overcome obstacles, create jobs and grow a successful business.

Nomination and voting is taking place online at http://www.tucsonwomanbusinessowneroftheyear.org. These community-wide awards, sponsored the Greater Tucson Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), will be announced on Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at a breakfast ceremony to be held at the Arizona Inn. Tickets are limited to early registration is encouraged.

•Mentor Award - honors a woman business owner who has served as a mentor to other women in business.
