"What are you doing New Year’s, New Year’s Eve?" This year, get a New Year’s party rockin’! Whether its a social ice-breaker or some stay-awake entertainment, gatherers can get primed for midnight with get together games.

Rock and Roll Triviologies™ — the Complete Rock and Roll Trivia game — and the new breakout hit Country Music Triviologies™ — the music trivia game that’s all country — from Aleken Games are two music themed trivia games that combine engaging game play with interesting Q&A that is fun for everyone from the occasional listener to the avid music man.

“How many times have people said, ‘that song reminds me of the time when…’? Isn’t New Years Eve a great time to reminisce while creating new memories?” Ken Eichstaedt, president of Aleken, said. “Somehow when bands, song titles, and lyrics are recalled by playing Rock and Roll or Country Music Triviologies, stories reverberate in your mind like the chords strummed on a Les Paul guitar. It’s a perfect atmosphere for a New Year’s Eve party.”

Aleken Games’ Country Music Triviologies (MSRP $29.95) and Rock and Roll Triviologies (MSRP $29.95) combine for over 2,000 music trivia questions that span the history of the beginning of rock and country music to present day.

Eichstaedt said, “I’m going to hang out with family and friends, listen to some tunes, and watch the ball drop as we play a few rounds of Rock and Roll and Country Music Triviologies.” Playing the game brings up some good stories, but Eichstaedt warns, “Don’t just play the game on New Year’s Eve, the games are perfect for any get together!”

From Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, and Johnny Cash to Toby Keith, Brooks and Dunn, and Gretchen Wilson, Country Music Triviologies can be played by two or more players or teams. Complete with over 650 questions, including a mix of “softballs” for the casual Country fan, and more challenging Country Star questions, the game play will “spur” a lot of interaction, story telling, and shared experiences for families and friends. Explore fun facts from several of the game’s selection of categories, including Country Legends, Hot New Country, Women of Country, and Country Jukebox.

The object of Rock and Roll Triviologies, played by two or more players or teams, is to assemble a five-piece band and then earn music industry awards. Elements of strategy, luck, and fun allow players to feel the real struggle of putting together a successful band. Spaces on the board include Jam Session which lets you take a band member from another player, Band Break Up, where you lose a band member, and Lucky Break, where you can move to any trivia category space. From Buddy Holly and the Beatles to U2 and Green Day, you’ll find your favorite artist and band in Rock and Roll Triviologies.

“There are also mini editions of the games — the Country Music Triviologies and Rock and Roll Triviologies Pocket Pack card games — they make great travel items. Many consumers purchased the Pocket Packs as Stocking Stuffers this year,” Eichstaedt said.

Each Country Music Triviologies™ Pocket Pack (MSRP $6.95) and Rock and Roll Triviologies™ Pocket Pack (MSRP $6.95) consists of over 200 fun music trivia questions and a score pad. The pocket-sized editions can be played by one or more players, or teams. There are three different Country Pocket Packs and six different Rock Pocket Packs.
