Tasteful to Tasteless It's All on Local Auction Block

An eclectic mix of collectibles, featuring toys, coins, movie and TV memorabilia, will be displayed alongside genuine Klu Klux Klan Robes, from a defunct NY chapter, at the Great American Auction House of Lyons, Saturday, Jan 7th at 1 p.m. “We have an admission ticket to a 1926 Rally in Westerlo consigned with the Robes, along with an embellished sword,” said Auctioneer Greg LeGrand.

Lyons, NY (PRWEB) December 29, 2005 -- An eclectic mix of collectibles, featuring toys, coins, movie and TV memorabilia, will be displayed alongside genuine Klu Klux Klan Robes, from a defunct NY chapter, at the Great American Auction House of Lyons, Saturday, Jan 7th at 1 p.m. “We have an admission ticket to a 1926 Rally in Westerlo consigned with the Robes, along with an embellished sword,” said
Auctioneer Greg LeGrand.

LeGrand states that he decided to accept these items because the Klan is an example of how America can overcome and even grow from the mistakes we have made in the past. “It still is part of our history, although it be a dark one.”

As people read about this auction, maybe some parents won’t forget to teach to their children how distorted some Organization’s are,” he said.

A giant 1932 WPA oil on wood portrait of Lincoln and even Ralph Waldo Emerson makes an appearance with a $35 check signed in 1873 from the Concord National Bank at this auction.

Eight-foot long movie banners from the epic Lord of the Rings and X-Men comic book heroes; signed posters and TV scripts; Fred Flintstone and Inspector Gadget; are just samples of an array of media memorabilia to be offered.

“This would be a good auction for a novice coin collector,” LeGrand said. “One could buy a 20 year sequence of Uncalculated and Proof Mint Sets, or first day cover stamp sets at one time. Even the seasoned collector may find the key to their set.”

Great American Auction House will accept absentee bids until Friday, Jan 6th at 5 p.m., by calling (315) 946-3344 or via the website at www.greatamericanauctionhouse.com
