A new website dedicated to all 1960 Buicks.

Mr. Greg Cockerill, owner of perhaps the lowest mileage 1960 Buick convertible in the world, premiered a new website dedicated to his LeSabre and all 1960 Buicks. Mr. Cockerill’s delta-wing LeSabre has only 10,000 actual miles and has been featured in many vintage collector car publications. Greg created the 1960 Buick website to share his car with the world. 1960 was a milestone year for Buick with many styling and engineering firsts. Internet users can view Mr. Cockerill’s LeSabre and learn about all 1960 Buicks at http://www.the1960buick.com.

1960 Buick Styling

Buick’s 1960 styling was adapted from Buick’s experimental 2 seat XP-75 Skylark coupe hand-built by GM Styling in 1957. The car was so well received by Buick management that the styling theme was adapted for all 1960 Buick models. For more photos and details about the XP-75 visit http://www.the1960buick.com.

Buick’s 1960 models touted many engineering firsts that made Buick stand out. Aluminum drum brakes made Buick’s brakes the best in the industry. Buick's Turbine Drive transmission was the smoothest in the business – the transmission operated without the annoying shifts so common in lesser makes. Further, unique to Buick was the Mirro-Magic instrument panel. Viewing of the instruments could be adjusted with just a dial. Love Affair

Finally, Mr. Cockerill encourages owners and former owners of 1960 Buicks to share their stories and photos about their cars with other 1960 Buick fans on http://www.the1960buick.com. Perhaps no other car has brought such an outpouring of interest and positive regard as Buick’s 1960 models. As one owner put it, “Buick got everything right in 1960 ... those that owned one swore by them.” Share your memories too, visit http://www.the1960buick.com today.
