488 trailers may be up for sale. With a price tag of $500 million, this might be the highest price paid for a trailer park.
Briny Breezes (http://www.BrinyBreezesFL.com) is located in a beautiful South Florida location just south of Palm Beach’s (http://www.PalmBeachFlorida.com) most beautiful waterfront homes and just steps from the Atlantic Ocean. There are mansions all along the water just north and just south of this community. With all Briny Breezes has to offer, it’s no wonder it has been so sought after by developers. In the last 10 years buyers could purchase these trailers individually for under $50,000, but that has changed. With developers offering as much as $500 million for the 488 trailers, each could be worth up to and over $1 million depending on location.
The community council has voted to hire attorneys to review the deal and the process to actually purchase the available 43 acres for re-development is expected to be long. With this delay there has been a lot of speculation by investors hoping to cash in on this investment opportunity. The individual trailer owners who want out can now sell at significant gains and if the deal comes to fruition, the potential investors could make huge profits on their investments.
Even with all of the money involved, not everyone is happy with this deal. Some residents have stated that they feel their little piece of paradise should be left alone and that they should not sell. However, the community is not likely to have any problem obtaining enough votes to allow the sale of this prime real estate.
We asked a local Briny Breezes real estate agent what she thought. She quickly responded, “I don’t think each individual trailer will ever be as valuable as the whole. This should be an opportunity for the residents and potential investors to get involved with a great re-development project. For the county as a whole, the re-development and revenue of the new construction will probably be amazing.”
No matter what the outcome is, some things are clear. Briny Breezes will always have one of the most beautiful waterfront locations and the current and future residents will always cherish their homes on the water. This really is a diamond in the ruff.
