Faux Glow to Go – A 10" for the Perfect Tan

Thanks to airbrush tanning, you can get a beautiful glowing tan without exposing your skin to the damaging rays of the sun or spending numerous sessions in a tanning bed. This hot new trend in tanning made a huge splash last spring and continues to grow rapidly – across the entire United States.

Littleton, CO (PRWEB) February 2, 2005 -- Since April 2003 MOON Tans, Inc. has licensed over 300 locations nationally to-date and "is the fastest growing sunless airbrush tanning company in the country," states Linda Dillon, President and Founder of MOON Tans, Inc. MOON Tans has been gaining National recognition in the sunless tanning industry - featured in several different local and national publications and television segments including the Golden Globes. Many have heard of the spray booths where the client steps into a chamber that sprays solution over the whole body simultaneously. Although the booths are a great solution for salons requiring an unattended service, it is extremely difficult to get a flawless tan.," says Dillon Part of the problem is that people dont read directions and dont take the time to prepare themselves before stepping into the booth resulting in an unfavorable experience, not to mention a sometimes streaky tan." The difference between the booth and airbrush tanning is airbrush tanning is applied onto the client personally by a trained technician resulting in a flawless tan. I definitely contribute MOON Tans exponential growth to both the clients who have used the booth application with huge disappointment and the general population becoming increasingly aware of the damage of UV Rays." Unlike the booth where one solution fits all, MOON Tans Airbrush Tanning offers a customized tan for each clients skin type. "We have produced a formula that provides the client with the natural glow of spending time in the sun –without any damage or the streaks and orange hue that is often found when using over the counter self tanners. Obviously, someone who is very fair doesnt look natural with the same tan as someone who is medium toned and tans easily. The technician spends time with the client evaluating their skin type as well as their desired results." Says Dillon.

What has prompted this revolutionary technique to tanning? Everyone enjoys the glow of a tan and the healthy radiance it seems to give. There also seems to be an increased awareness of potential health risks from exposing our skin to UV Rays and the fact that it potentially increases the risk of skin cancer," says Dillon. The excitement about airbrush tanning has been astounding and contagious because until recently there wasnt a good alternative to spending time in a tanning bed or under the damaging rays of the sun to obtain that healthy golden glow. And the streaky self tanners that turn orange dont count." adds Dillon.

Women (and more recently men) have been in search for the perfect tan" since the 1960s with the introduction of Quick Tan (QT). Although many of the over the counter treatments provide a tan, many are messy, hard to apply, stain clothing and often leave the user with orange hands, feet and streaks galore". I really like looking tan, but I cant ever get the sunless tanning lotions to look good and I am not willing to subject my skin to the damage of the sun or tanning beds" says Terri Anuszewski of Aspen. I love how natural I look and how quick and easy getting a MOON Tan is" she says.

Many ingredients are the same in both the over-the-counter self-tanning lotions and the airbrush tanning solution however with the professional formulas the smell and orange streaks are pleasantly absent. The active ingredient that tans the skin is DHA, a natural derivative of sugar, which creates a chemical reaction with the amino acids in the skin providing the pigment of the skin to darken. DHA is safe; it has been tested and approved by the FDA for over 30 years.

One Airbrush Tanning session takes about 15 minutes for the technician to apply and the solution dries almost instantly and develops over a period of 6-8 hours. Two sessions are recommended to build a base tan, and once established, the tan will last anywhere from 7-10 days. MOON Tans doesn't dye the skin, it creates the same reaction the sun does, without all the harmful UVrays, "leaving the client with a very natural looking tan".
