Millimeter Wave Registration Site Powered by RadioSoft® Launches

mmradioforms.com to provide registration and database management services for accessing high capacity communications spectrum.
says Peter Moncure, RadioSoft chief technology officer. For short-haul data links such as connections between buildings on a campus, use of millimeter wave could result in substantial savings in communications costs and provide significant increases in the availability of gigabit wireless connections.

Demorest, GA (PRWEB) February 8, 2005 -- RadioSoft, a leading provider of broadcast and land-mobile spectrum mining, management and maintenance solutions announced today that www.mmradioforms.com, a web site providing registration and database management for frequencies on the high-capacity wireless spectrum millimeter wave, is now available.

Frequency Finder®, Inc., a RadioSoft company, was recently chosen along with two other vendors by a joint commission of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA) to provide a database and registration management solution for millimeter wave.

The new communications band provides high speed, point-to-point wireless data links that can handle heavy loads—a sort of wireless fiber optic"—but, since users will share the spectrum with government facilities such as military bases, frequencies must be accurately registered and carefully checked to eliminate any possibility of interference.

The government understands the potential for private use of the spectrum," says Peter Moncure, RadioSoft chief technology officer. For short-haul data links such as connections between buildings on a campus, use of millimeter wave could result in substantial savings in communications costs and provide significant increases in the availability of gigabit wireless connections."

Users who wish to register millimeter wave link frequencies can obtain a nationwide license by filling out a simple online FCC form. Once locations for the wireless networks are chosen, users then visit www.mmradioforms.com to complete the process.

The goal is to approve most licenses almost instantaneously," says Moncure. As long as the requested frequency is not in close proximity to an existing user or government facility, the registration process can be completed in minutes."
