Willemstad, Curacao (PRWEB) February 21, 2005 -- On Thursday February 17th, 2005, Curacao Dolphin Academy welcomed its first participants of the Childrens Wish Foundation. This non-profit organization fulfills wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses and is committed to making each childs wish a once-in-a-lifetime event.

It is their goal to create an escape, however brief, from the challenges these children face every moment of the day. And hereby, they do not only focus on the child alone but on the entire family, giving them the opportunity to share a moment of magic, creating fond memories that carry on with them long after their precious child is gone. Curacao Dolphin Academy strongly relates to this philosophy and therefore was very willing to assist in the work of this foundation.

17-year old Dana Adams was diagnosed with a terminal illness when a social worker at her hospital brought her into contact with the Childrens Wish Foundation. Ever since then Dana, together with the foundation, started planning her wish to swim with dolphins. After a difficult year for Dana and her family, it was Dana herself who selected the island of Curacao and the Dolphin Academy as the locations where her wishes could come to life.

Together with the Childrens Wish Foundation the Curacao Dolphin Academy made sure that Dana could see her wish become reality. In the Dolphin Lagoon of The Academy, Dana and her family enjoyed a swim with dolphins Teresa & Annie and trainer Livingston.

Being honored with the visit of Dana and her family, the people of Curacao Dolphin Academy hope they gave her and her family a long lasting memory and wish her all the best. The cooperation with the Childrens Wish Foundation was greatly appreciated and therefore Curacao Dolphin Academy is looking forward to work together with the foundation in making more special childrens wishes come true.
