Meedio and Cooper Wiring Devices Demonstrate New Home Control Products
Alliance will create elegant, low-cost solutions for home entertainment and control using Meedios powerful software platform and new Z-Wave hardware from Cooper Wiring Devices.
Houston, TX (PRWEB) February 24, 2005 -- Meedio, the innovative developer of software for the digital home, today announced that its platform was chosen to demonstrate Cooper Wiring Devices' (CWD) new lighting control products at Electronic House Expo in Orlando, Florida. The two companies have worked together to create an integrated home entertainment and control solution based on the popular Z-Wave wireless technology. This solution will enable consumers, builders, and system integrators to combine sophisticated digital lifestyle environments with reliable remote control.

Meedio develops a complete line of integrated software to manage and control the digital home. Its products include:
- Meedio HouseBot, a home automation server that monitors and controls devices using X10, Z-Wave, infrared, RS/232, and other popular interfaces. Meedio HouseBot includes a drag-and-drop designer to create custom graphical "software remotes" for touchscreens, PCs, and PDAs.
- Meedio Essentials, which turns an existing PC into a customizable media center capable of organizing and playing music, movies, photo slideshows, and more, using a TV and remote control.
- Meedio TV, a digital video recorder that allows consumers to watch and record their favorite TV shows to their PC's hard drives or home networks.
