Email Hosting Service Launched by Premium E-mail Pioneer Runbox.com

Premium email pioneer runbox.com has today launched email hosting on the runbox.com email platform. This now allows small and mid-size businesses to host their email on a premium email service.

Oslo, Norway (PRWEB) March 4, 2005 -- By moving their email to hosting by runbox.com, small and mid-size businesses can offer their employees premium email under their own domain. Businesses can offer their employees virtually unlimited online storage space for their email and files. Premium email also includes access to email on any email protocol (such as POP3 and IMAP), so that users have total flexibility in how, and on what client, they want to use their email.

Many large email providers like Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail and runbox.com have lately raced to introduce premium email services by dramatically increasing online email storage capacity with more features. This move to premium email has benefited users of the large international email providers. One or two GB of online storage is now the industry standard for premium email services.

"If your email account doesn't give you at least 1 GB online disk space, file storage option, and support for any email protocol and device then you don't have a premium email account today", says Runbox founder and CEO Hans Lysglimt.

Many small and mid-size businesses have not seen their email service improve as many full-service Internet service providers (ISPs) and internal, corporate email departments have not been able to follow the move to dedicated premium email services. Other services like Microsoft Hotmail, Outlook, Microsoft Exchange and AOL mail use technical limitations to lock users up to their own service.

"Only the dedicated email providers have made the move to premium email services so far. It is very demanding to go from a system with 2-4 MB
of storage space per customer to 1-2 GB of storage space per email customer. Most general all-purpose ISP's and corporate IT departments will need time to make this move", says CEO Hans Lysglimt.

By offering Premium email hosting, runbox.com is making it possible for small and mid-size businesses to move their corporate email to a premium email service now.
