Gulf Coast Cup 2005 Soccer Tournament

The Gulf Coast United Futbol Club is hosting 130 high-quality soccer teams at our annual spring tournament March 19th - 20th, 2005, in Gulfport, MS. Boys teams in eight age groups, ages 10-19, and girls teams in eight age groups, ages 10-18, will play a highly competitive soccer tournament.

(PRWEB) March 14, 2005 -- Teams from Mississippi, Florida, Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama will play Saturday from 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., and Sunday from 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. in round-robin and bracket play to determine a champion in each age/sex group. There will be a high level of player skills demonstrated as these competitive players challenge each other.

Games will be held at the County Farm Soccer Complex and the Gulfport Sportsplex. Admission and parking are free and a concession stand is available.

The County Farm Soccer Complex is 7 miles north of I-10 exit # 28 or 2 miles south of Hwy 53 on County Farm Road.

The Gulfport Sportsplex is located adjacent to Interstate 10 in Gulfport:
From Interstate 10:
Take the Canal Road exit north and turn right onto 16th Street at the Love's Truck Stop. Follow 16th Street to the Sportsplex entrance.
From U.S. 49:
Turn West off of Highway 49 onto Landon Road. (Landon Road is the traffic-light controlled intersection north of I-10, across from Chilis). Follow Landon Road approximately 1.5 miles to the Sportsplex north entrance.

Bring the children, but leave the pets at home since it is not a good idea to have animals around such spirited activities. Soccer is a terrific sport for kids and it is so popular because it is fun and competitive.

The economic impact of over 2000 families spending the weekend on the Mississippi Gulf Coast will be in excess of $1.5 million. These families will stay in local hotels, eat in the restaurants, shop in all types of stores, and utilize the entertainment facilities.
