Full Sail Makes It 12 Years in a Row for Top Grammy Prize
Full Sail grads continue to garner success at the music industry's most prestigious awards show.
(PRWEB) March 8, 2005 -- At the 47th Annual Grammy Awards, Full Sail Real World Education, a media production college in Winter Park, marked its 12th straight year with Full Sail graduates working on the Grammy-winning Album of the Year. Full graduates Casey Phariss (Class of 02) and Jay Spears (Class of 00) worked on Ray Charles final studio album Genius Loves Company, which was recognized as the Album of the Year during February 6th Grammy telecast on CBS.
Overall, 25 Grammy Awards were handed out to projects that included Full Sail graduates as engineers or assistant engineers in production. Some of these top honors included:
• Song of the Year John Mayer – Daughters" (Chris Steffen, 2nd Engineer – Class of 02)
• Best Country Album Loretta Lynn - Van Lear Rose (Stuart Sikes, Mixing – Class of 94)
• Best R&B Album Alicia Keys – The Diary of Alicia Keys (Vincent Dilorenzo – Class of 99)
• Best Latin Pop Album Marc Anthony – Amar Sin Mentiras (Sebastian Krys, Engineer – Class of 91)
In addition to graduates with production credits on this years Album of the Year, Full Sail alumni have worked on the previous 11 Album of the Year winners. Some of these projects include:
• Alanis Morissette – Jagged Little Pill (1995)
• Lauryn Hill – The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (1998)
• Norah Jones – Come Away With Me (2002)
• Outkast – Speakerboxxx/The Love Below (2003)
