San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 15, 2005 -- The tradition of Italian artisans is alive and well in interior finishes company Mimosa International. Known for its lustrous textures, sumptuous colors, and enchanting, Italian craftsmanship, Mimosa is launching its premium wall finish - Marmorino Metallico - at an invitation only soirée on March 17, 2005 at 1045 Mission Street in San Francisco, California from 4:00 --7:00 PM.

Marmorino Metallico is applied using traditional Italian plaster techniques that were created especially for the grand palazzos and breathtaking villas of old Italy. The finish is composed of a simple plaster prepared with Grassello, a lime paste made with stone found in the Ticino River Valley just outside of Venice. The stone is treated in a high-pressure oven and is kept underwater for one year to obtain the needed consistency of the paste. The paste is then mixed with marble dust from the Tuscan region of Carrara - famous for being the favorite working playground of Michelangelo. Besides being a sculptures paradise, Carrara is also famous for having the purest and the whitest marble in the world. Thus, Mimosas integration of choice materials and Italian craftsmanship transforms old world charm into new world design.
