Mortus Illumina, Faustian Affair of a Film Gets its First Public Screening

Mortus Illumina, Faustian Affair of a Film gets its first public screening.

(PRWEB) March 30, 2005 -- Mortus Illumina is an independent British feature film shot on a minuscule budget of 35'000. it has taken the filmmakers (5YLAC Films) so far 4 years to complete. They are now at the final hurdle as they work towards a post production deadline to get the film ready for this years Cannes festival 2005.

The film is about a girl called Mary who sells her soul for five years worth of happiness, but when it comes to pay takes refuge in a convent, unaware that her soul holds the key to the destruction or survival of the deadlights realm, a world that exists between this and the next.

The Story is a mixture of Live Action, Animation and puppetry, and you dont have to wait until Cannes to see the film. On Saturday the 2nd April 2005, A special preview screening as part of the Frome Media and Arts Festival in Somerset is taking place (full details see http://www.fromecollege.somerset.sch.uk/media_arts/festival.htm)
Being introduced by the Films filmmaker, Robert St-john Smith, the opening act of the film will be shown.

Im very looking forward to seeing the audience reaction on the film, though there have been previous smaller preview screenings, this is the first time a completed section will be shown to a large audience, we are also doing this by the skin of the teeth ! we will be In the edit suite to the early hours of Saturday morning adding the finishing touches" - Robert St-John Smith

They are not worried about the tight deadline , through out the making of the film they have put up with locations being cancelled at the last minute, car crashes and a leading actor shaving off all there hair in a drinking game. All of which they taken in their stride as to make the film has been a case of begging, borrowing , blaggin all the way.

A great deal of the final shoot was paid for thanks to the roulette table, Also a major film out very shortly, we conveniently borrowed a few items of costume from them and if you watch the opening sequence of the film, in the background is a great deal of props from well known TV shows. I just hope no one recognizes them and asks for them back! - Robert St-John Smith

The Filmmakers are currently in the process of migrating websites but some information about the film can be found here www.5ylac.s5.com and stills from the making off can be found here http://public.fotki.com/chance1234/5mortus_illumina/
