Boston, MA (PRWEB) April 1, 2005 -- "And Thou Shalt Honor: Caring for Our Aging Parents" examines long-term caregiving in America with host Joe Mantegna. The documentary will air at 2pm, Sunday, April 10, on WGBH-TV, Ch 2 & 44.

Filmed on location across the US, the documentary makes it clear — todays longer life spans come at a personal cost and a disproportionate share of that cost is borne by those who assume responsibility for their loved ones.

And Thou Shalt Honor: Boston Caregiver Town Hall Meeting
Not everything about long-term care is dark, though. The program's producers, Wiland-Bell Productions LLC, say that the commitment can be "a spiritual journey that expands the boundaries of love."

The documentary will be followed by a broadcast of "And Thou Shalt Honor: Boston Caregiver Town Hall Meeting" at 4 PM that was taped at Suffolk University during the Democratic National Convention in Boston. This 90-minute PBS local special covers the moving exchange between family caregivers and political leaders, healthcare professionals, and service providers from Greater Boston. Compelling testimony and debate shed light on this critical healthcare issue.

Andrea Cohen, HouseWorks CEO and co-chair of the Boston meeting, says, Many of us will be both caregiver and cared-for in our lifetimes. We may slip into these roles so gradually that we scarcely realize it. The goal of the Boston Town Hall Meeting is to empower caregivers and help provide local solutions."

Free Open-to-the-Public Seminars in April and May, in connection with the broadcast, will be held on aging and caring for aging parents. Dates and places:
