Freebirds World Burrito to Open 12th Texas Restaurant on Austins South Congress Avenue

Saturday, April 2, Texas favorite fresh fast casual restaurant, will unveil its newest Freebirds World Burrito in Austin, Texas at 515 South Congress Avenue.

(PRWEB) April 2, 2005 -- On Saturday, April 2, Texas favorite fresh fast casual restaurant known for its Monster burritos, will unveil its newest Freebirds World Burrito in Austin, Texas. The new restaurant, located at 515 South Congress Avenue across the street from the Austin American Statesman (at the corner of South Congress and Riverside), will pay tribute to its Texas legacy with flying guitars bursting from an interior wall, and a likeness of Willie Nelson riding in the sidecar of a Harley Davidson, inscribed with A national monument does not have to be a place." The Harley is being driven by Libby, a resemblance of the Statute of Liberty.

Along with the traditional trade dress elements, which are a blend of metal and wood finishes accented by cloudscapes, brick walls, concrete floors, and a bright yellow and black color scheme, the new 2500 square-foot Freebirds will feature a stone exterior, high ceilings, an outdoor patio with a view of the Capitol, and the background of the backwards F on the exterior signage will be of a Texas flag.

"We love the Austin market," said Alan Hixon, CEO, Freeb!rds World Burrito. South Congress has been on our radar for quite some time. Freebirds is a natural fit with the areas funky, fun, and unique environment."

The new restaurant will employ 30 crew members. On opening day, the restaurant will open at 11:00 AM with their full menu of burritos, salads, quesadillas, tacos, and nachos.

With the South Congress location, the company has grown to 12 locations across Texas in the Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and College Station markets. Four stores were opened in 2004, and several more are slated to open in 2005 including the companys first location in San Antonio.
