Report Quantifies Web Presence of Research, Media and Technology Organizations

White paper presents a report card for web sites of IT research organizations, traditional and digital publishers, and commercial and Open Source software providers.

Carlsbad, CA (PRWEB) April 5, 2005 -- Ken North Computing, LLC has released a report titled "Web Presence: A Report Card for Technology, Research and Media Organization Web Sites". The 31-page white paper provides rankings for web sites belonging to computer and software companies, media organizations, and companies that provide information technology (IT) research.

Because the Internet has grown to more than 60 million web sites, its become more important for organizations to measure how well they are at reaching their target web audience. This white paper enables organizations to see how well their web sites are doing in comparison to other sites of the same genre. The report includes data for comparing web sites of open source initiatives and commercial software companies. It provides site rankings for traditional media and for IT media sites. The report also includes comparative data for 19 research organizations that provide analysis about IT trends.

Grid computing, XML and web services are enabling technologies being promoted by open source initiatives and leading companies in the computer industry. The report provides data for web sites that focus on those technologies, in addition to sites for the database community.

"Although Internet-based businesses are the most visited web sites, this report shows how well technology, research and media organizations are doing in reaching a web audience. The data enables someone to see, for example, how IT publishing web sites are doing and how effective the web has been for open source initiatives" said Ken North, the report's publisher.

The report is available for download from North Summit Media web sites (www.GridSummit.com, www.SQLSummit.com and www.WebServicesSummit.com)
