Whole Foods Market Carries Effective Microorganisms from EM America

A Latin American visit with vendors leads Whole Foods Market to carry Effective Microorganisms in its stores.

Alto, TX (PRWEB) April 13, 2005 -- After a recent tour in Costa Rica to meet with their growers, Whole Foods Market decided Effective Microorganisms (EM•1®) was a product they wanted to promote in the United States.

Founded in 1980 as one small store in Austin, Texas, Whole Foods Market is now the world's leading retailer of natural and organic foods, with 168 stores in North America and the United Kingdom. Whole Foods Market remains uniquely mission driven: "We're highly selective about what we sell, dedicated to stringent Quality Standards, and committed to sustainable agriculture." For a complete listing of stores, visit www.wholefoods.com.

Anyone who has ever been near a livestock operation with several thousand animals knows what the word odor" means. However, the Whole Foods Market representatives were amazed when they visited farms in Costa Rica to find those operations void not only of odor, but also of flies and disease, due, they were told, to the use of EM•1®. Meeting with EARTH University (whose bananas are carried by Whole Foods Market's Eastern divisions), the Whole Foods Markets group asked about the Effective Microorganisms (EM•1®) and discovered that EM•1® is taught as part of the university's curriculum, and that it is used in over 120 countries worldwide.

On March 3, Whole Foods Market initially offered EM•1® at the grand opening of its flagship store in Austin, Texas, followed by an additional 46 stores in the Southwestern United States. Whole Foods Market plans to carry EM•1® and several other products distributed by EM America in all of its 160 stores in the United States in the near future. These products include the dietary supplement, EM-X®, which is used and recommended by doctors and dentists in Germany, Austria, Japan, and now the US.

Based in Alto, Texas, EM America is the sales and marketing company in the continental United States for EM•1® products, which are imported or manufactured by EMRO USA Effective Microorganisms of Tucson, Arizona. EM America has a team of dedicated professionals with extensive experience in a wide variety of EM•1® applications including agriculture, human health, and the environment.
