Author Paul N. McMahon Announces Debut Novel, "The K-7 Directive"

New international thriller has been compared to the novels of Tom Clancy and Clive Cussler by reviewers.

Reston, VA (PRWEB) April 19, 2005 -- Author Paul N. McMahon announces the release of his debut novel, "The K-7 Directive." The international thriller explores the as yet unrealized possibility of large scale cooperation between home and foreign terror groups.

"When I began to think about the story, I was studying overseas," explained the author. "I was in Spain during the Washington sniper incidents. I had recently been interviewed by a Spanish newspaper on the anniversary of September 11th. I think probably those two events, the sniper attacks and September 11th, provided the inspiration to formulate the concept for the novel."

The compelling story begins in 2003 when an American white supremacy group, the Aryan Front, forms a loose yet unlikely alliance with al Qaeda. With the help of a disgruntled Iraqi molecular biologist who has gained access to a virus known as K-7, the alliance's goal is to bring the virus to the United States to decimate the general population and overthrow the government.

The wealthy, charismatic and maniacal founder of the Aryan Front then recruits Nick D'Abruzzo to develop and deliver enough of the virus to the Aryan Front forces in the United States to carry out the planned attacks. Nick works with al Qaeda operatives in Iraq, the Sudan and Paraguay and with friends in Argentina to create and transport the virus for the attacks. The story also follows Nicks twin brother, Francis D'Abruzzo, a distinguished former Navy doctor, and a new employee with the Department of Homeland Security working to counter bio-terror attacks. Estranged from his brother but desiring to make amends, Francis endeavors to find some current information about him. Instead, a disturbing image of Nick begins to reveal itself.

"The K-7 Directive" follows Francis as he searches for Nick from Turkey to Spain and to Argentina. Ultimately, in a tense final scene on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on the Fourth of July, Francis must out-smart and out-maneuver his brother and the alliance to save America.
