New Entertainment Company Joins Video Publishing Revolution with Contest for Free Online TV Shows

Tired of watching the same old stuff on broadcast and cable television? Start your own online TV series, with free production, at MyTVonline, a new entertainment company that believes there's better television to be had in the grass roots of the web, than in the 500 channels of satellite TV.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) April 14, 2005 -- New entertainment company bypasses celebrities, launches contest for grass roots, online TV hosts, activists, and personalities.

The CEO of MyTVonline, Mr. John Hart, announced today the first in a series of online contests to find online TV hosts for a new venture into online video publishing.

"Our contest is designed to uncover new, talent that cannot afford to produce their own TV series, and equally important, the contest is also our entry into the next trend on the Internet, video publishing," Mr. Hart said. "I envision some of the same people who now publish blogs getting into video publishing. But it's expensive. So, my business model is to build the TV show for free and revenue share with the talent," Hart said.

MyTVonline will pick three winners from all entries and produce, shoot, edit, and score 13 weekly shows, up to 10-minutes long, for each of the three winners. Round-trip transportation, lodging, and meals will also be provided to each winner. The contest is open to U.S. and international contestants, age 18 and up.

"The web has matured; it's proven that downloadable video works. The major players are focusing on celebrity television, but I'm betting that short segment, online TV, hosted by grass roots folks will be a hit with Internet users. That's why I'm rolling the dice with the right talent," Hart said.

Each winner's show will have the same look-and-feel as any show now running on broadcast television, with opening, billboards, sponsors, closing, and credits.

MyTVonline is now in production on two upcoming series, "Fight Back," and "Cooking for Romance." "Fight Back" will show women how to protect themselves on the streets and in their homes, and fight off attackers. The show is hosted by self-defense expert, Wanda Lavier, 5'1" and 105 pounds. "Cooking for Romance" is hosted by an Italian bachelor chef who will show guys, with no cooking talent, how to prepare an elegant home-cooked meal that is sure to ignite romance.

"We're looking for hosts and activists who can use online TV to better present current issues to the world, or entertain an audience with something new, short, and sweet," Hart said.

MyTVonline owns and operates its own sound stage near Portland, with high-definition cameras and on-location production equipment.

Current contest deadline is June 15, 2005. For more information, please visit www.mytvonline.tv or contact Mr. Hart at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas, April 18-21.
