S2 Institute Brings Advanced-Level Anti-Terrorism Training to the Web

S2 Safety and Intelligence Institute launches a new distance learning system related to homeland security training. The new S2 virtual classroom provides a dynamic learning environment unequaled by anything short of a live classroom.

Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) April 19, 2005 -- The S2 Safety & Intelligence Institute, in conjunction with the S2 Online Academy, announced the launch of its new distance learning system. The new training platform provides students with advanced-level training programs related to homeland security in an easy-to use online format.

The S2 distance learning system was designed as a training solution for busy professionals who do not have the time to fly to another city or to sit in a classroom for several days. Once the student enrolls in the course, the student has instant access to the training and can complete the lessons at the times that best suit his or her schedule. S2's online courses also offer a cost-effective way to train personnel without incurring travel expenses or lost productivity due to training time.

The Anti-Terrorism Officer course was selected as the first program for conversion to online delivery due to its high popularity with police and military organizations. Since the program was first launched in 2001, S2 has trained hundreds of anti-terrorism professionals in organizations ranging from commercial corporations to government agencies, such as the US Capitol Police and US Special Operations Command. The S2 Anti-Terrorism Officer course is also the foundational training program used by Critical Intervention Services for preparing CIS Anti-Terrorism Officers, a special corps of security officers that have received national recognition for the methods they use in protecting critical infrastructure sites. Other available online courses include Defense Against Hazardous Mailings and Entry Point Screening.

Other courses scheduled for conversion before the end of 2005 include Assessing Terrorism Related Risk, Suicide Terrorism, Workplace Violence and several levels of maritime security training. The 2005 production schedule will also introduce a suite of advanced Weapon of Mass Destruction courses by a former UNMOVIC Weapons Inspector.
