Principle Photography Has Commenced on Waiting on Alphie"

"Waiting on Alphie" from White Lightning Productions has entered post-production

Ithaca, NY (PRWEB) April 17, 2005 -- A café in New York joins two men. Gus, flown in from Chicago, awaits the order — on the café payphone — to kill Alphie or let him live. With nowhere to go and nothing to do, they are in a standoff that turns minutes to hours. As today becomes tomorrow, the two find themselves discussing life, society, food -- and a secret from the past that comes crashing down.

The story of Alphonso Conte, a member of Chicagos Parker Eight, is revealed in Waiting on Alphie," a new drama from White Lightning Productions. Why did Alphie suddenly leave Chicago? Why has Gus been sent to Buffalo on this contract? "Waiting on Alphie" is one indie this year worth waiting for.

We had an excellent cast and crew that made this production a breeze," says Eric C Lindstrom, the movies producer. With Director Kevin Hicks at the helm, this production was the envy of any filmmaker. We came in on-time and under-budget which is rare in this business."

Shot in seven days on a custom-built sound stage in Ithaca, NY, once known as the Hollywood of the East," Waiting on Alphie" is scheduled for release in fall 2005.

Lindstrom believes the project will help mark the next step in filmmaking in Ithaca, which had a thriving movie industry nearly a century ago.

Lindstrom and director Kevin Hicks wrote the Alphie screenplay more than a year ago. The movie was shot and edited in digital video.

"Our experience with digital video has been so successful we decided to make this movie completely on a digital platform," Hicks said. "DV technology and improvements in video cameras have made it possible to create low-cost movies with high aesthetic value. More and more movie makers are going in this direction."

The 90-minute feature is expected to be finished by fall 2005 and will be submitted to the Sundance Film Festival and other film festivals this year.

Starring Buffalo actors James K. Fulater, Lance Zurek, Matthew Landon and introducing Keri Szymanski. For more information on this film or distribution inquiry, contact Eric C Lindstrom at 607-277-8901 or visit the official website at www.waitingonalphiemovie.com.
