Luncheon Featuring Screen Legend Ruby Dee to Highlight NAMIC Creative Summit West Coast

The NAMIC Creative Summit West Coast is scheduled for Friday, April 29, 2005 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) April 18, 2005 -- "A Conversation with Ruby Dee," a special luncheon featuring the legendary actor-writer-producer will highlight the NAMIC Creative Summit West Coast. The announcement was made today by Antoinette Brown-Leon, president, NAMIC Southern California, Inc. An entertainment industry forum focused on the creative aspects of the television business, the NAMIC Creative Summit West Coast is scheduled for Friday, April 29, 2005 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

"We are honored to host Ms. Dee for this event allowing the conference attendees to experience this entertainment industry veteran up close and personal in an intimate setting," said Brown-Leon, regional director, Affiliate Marketing, TV One. A breakfast networking mixer, Career Expo and cocktail reception are also scheduled for the daylong event. Launched in 2004, the Creative Summit West Coast serves as the conference component to the NAMIC Vision Awards, the only industry event recognizing cable's commitment to producing quality, culturally diverse original programming content, now in its eleventh year.

"Last year's tenth anniversary of the Vision Awards was the optimal juncture to broaden NAMIC's reach within the entertainment community and expand on the decade of success experienced since the inception of the awards by producing the adjunct conference," said Kyle Bowser, principal, Res Ipsa Media and Vision Awards founder and executive producer. "The addition of the seminar component was a strategic response to the cable industry's increasing desire to gain direct access to talented professionals of color."
