The American Veteran: Featuring Some True Military Stars"

Military Stars is proud to announce its featured role in the newly released episode of the Pentagon Channels The American Veteran television series (Edition 2, April 2005, Veterans: Now Hiring). The program informs the public about veterans rights and benefits while telling inspirational stories of the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women every day.

(PRWEB) April 21, 2005 -- In a segment entitled Veterans: Now Hiring", The American Veteran takes its cameras inside the Military Stars Career Expo held in suburban Washington, D.C in January. As Military Stars CEO Hal Fischer notes in the show, his company brings the employer and the military candidate together at an event where they can meet each other face to face, which is where the hiring really happens". His words became a reality for one veteran that was followed around by the cameras at the event.

Brian Modest of Hampton, VA, was fresh off a five-year tour in the Marines. He notes in the show that as a job-seeker, theres a lot of apprehension. You get worried whether theyre going to call you or not." Well, Brian doesnt have to worry about that anymore because a few weeks after attending the Military Stars Career Expo, Brian got that call he was hoping for and landed a new career with the U.S. Department of State. Asked what it felt like to get that call he wanted so badly, Brian happily answers, I was relieved – it felt good." Noting his computer background in the military, he said of the event, I liked the type of jobs available – lots of tech-based companies, and others like the FBI and the Secret Service. It fit me perfectly."

Brian is a true success story in the new movement to hire veterans, and has these words for Military Stars and his fellow job-seekers: Keep having these events. Theyre very beneficial, not just for getting a job, but for establishing contacts in different fields and job markets. Thats so important when youre leaving the military." CEO Fischer has a message for veterans too, companies are looking for you." Brian Modest is walking proof of what can happen when someone with the special qualities of a veteran meets an employer intent on finding just that kind of talent.

Military Stars is honored that the Pentagon Channel and The American Veteran chose to help spread the message about hiring veterans. Were proud to be part of The American Veteran show," Fischer says. We value, above all else, what we can do for veterans and this program is a great way to help get the word out to the troops." The veteran-hiring movement is now being televised. Tune in for a powerful look at these exceptional people – its another great reason why they are called Military Stars."
