Clarenville, NL (PRWEB) April 28, 2005 -- Oikos Global announces an international competition for kids. Oikos Global Award aims to recognize children and youths who have done valuable projects to help their peers face the various challenges in their communities and schools.
Ive met some amazing kids who are helping their classmates and friends without expecting anything in return. Because of their selflessness, they are contributing significantly to our communities. Its about time that we honor these motivated kids," says Dr. Michael Rayel, a psychiatrist and co-founder of Oikos Global.
This annual competition honors and recognizes kids and youths who have made a difference in the life of their peers. They may have helped them deal with bullies, avoid street drugs and alcohol, improve communication among peers, establish support networks, or reduce violence in school and community. Individuals or organizations can participate in the contest.
Dr. Gayzelle Meneses-Rayel, a pediatrician and co-founder of Oikos Global, says that the criteria are stringent. The Oikos Global Award Committee - a committee consisting of professionals from various fields serves as impartial judge. The committee members include: Dan Austin, Lisa Browne, Derek Elliott, Mona Romaine-Elliott, Natalie Moody, Michael G. Rayel, and Evelyn Tilley.
In the end, the project with the best impact will be rewarded," says Dr. Meneses-Rayel.
The award consists of the following: First Prize: US$1,000.00, a certificate, and a medal; Second Prize: US$750.00, a certificate, and a medal; and Third Prize: US$500.00, a certificate, and a medal. The application deadline is December 01, 2005.
