International 450 Association Elects New Chairman

Vice Chairman Colin Chandler today announced the International 450 Association (IA 450) www.450world.org elected a new chairman to the organization. Vadim Beliavski with SOTEL was voted in as Chairman during the Plenary held in Rio de Janeiro Brazil April 21 and 22nd In addition two vacant Board positions were also filled.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL (PRWEB) May 1, 2005 -– Vice Chairman Colin Chandler said the appointment of Vadim Beliavski as Chairman will give additional leadership to the IA450 to promote the use of CDMA450 technology on a worldwide basis. We are working with the industry players and other associations such as the CDMA Development Group to give the wireless customers the benefit of the additional coverage provided by the use of CDMA450”

About the IA450
The International 450 Association (IA450) is a new name for the NMT Association, formed 4 years ago to promote the use of the analog and digital technologies in the 400 to 500 MHz band. Formed in 1992 the organization was previously known as the NMT MoU.

Currently the IA 450 has 34 members including 15 operator members and 18 industrial members. The IA 450 represents the interests of mobile operators using the 450 MHz band including NMT analogue mobile system and suppliers of NMT analogue equipment and/or equipment for the digital upgrade of 450 MHz systems. The IA450 represents operators in Scandinavia, Central & Eastern Europe, Russian NMT operators (through their industry organisation, SOTEL), all of which operate in the 450-470 MHz frequency band as well as in Asia and Africa.

The IA450 not only promotes the use of CDMA 2000 in the 450MHz band, but also supports industry standards to advance the deployment of the technology. The IA450 provides guidance and leadership to operators interested in deploying this technology through the extension of the results, and benefits of actual member experiences and real life results and successes to all global players.
