El Rey Largo announces the first weekly winners of its Costa Rican Beauty Contest. Photos of Maricela and Heirberto were chosen by patrons of El Rey Largo as the best and will receive an 8x10 glossy print of their winning photo and 5,000 Costa Rican colones.

Alajuela, Costa Rica (PRWEB) May 1, 2005 -- El Rey Largo Announces the first weekly winners of its Costa Rican Beauty Contest. Photos of Maricela and Heirberto were chosen by patrons of El Rey Largo as the best and will receive an 8x10 glossy print of their winning photo and 5,000 Costa Rican colones.

El Rey Largo is a restaurant bar located in Alajuela, Costa Rica. Just a few minutes from the San Jose International Airport (SJO) so it is a gathering place for tourists and Costa Ricans alike.

A male and a female winner is selected every Saturday. On alternating weeks the winner is chosen by patrons of El Rey Largo or the Internet. All patrons (over 18) of El Rey Largo are welcome to enter the contest by simply posing for a photograph.

Winners can be viewed on the internet at: http://www.elreylargo.com/bonita.html All users of the internet are also welcome to vote on the photos. In the first week, hundreds of internet users from across the United States, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, France, Fiji, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, England, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Portugal, Uruguay and users at the US Airforce, Army, Navy and Marines have already voted on the photos.

El Rey Largo also offers tourist information for foreign visitors including maps of Costa Rica, hotel and other information. Free high speed internet is also offered via their WiFi Hotspot.

El Rey Largo was created by an American, Glen L. Roberts who has lived in Costa Rica for 2-1/2 years, as a place that tourists and Costa Ricans can relax and enjoy the exchange of culture. When asked about the best part of operating the establishment, Roberts said, its seeing all the people enjoying a nice place to hang out.” When asked about the most difficult part, he said at one point things got so intense that the U.S. Embassy recommended that I leave the country immediately for my safety.”
