Martinez, marketing director for the South Florida Branch of AXA Advisors, LLC., is being honored by the South Florida Business Journal and the NOVA Southeastern University as a finalist for the 2005 Up and Comers Award in the category of Marketing, announced Luis G. Chiappy, CFP, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, Executive Vice President of AXA Advisors’ Southern Division. The awards luncheon will be held on Wednesday, May 25 at Hyatt Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale. Registration is at
11:30 and lunch begins at noon.
The Up and Comers Awards will recognize the outstanding young business leaders under the age of 40 who are on the career fast track – making their mark in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Local business and civic leaders who have achieved a solid measure of success in a variety of business and non-profit organizations will be honored at this event.
“Marketing is key to our business, and Felix is one of the best around,” said Chiappy. “Not only is he knowledgeable about the products and services that AXA Advisors offers, but he also understands how to deliver that message to the consumers so that they understand the value of financial services for their families and businesses.”

A graduate of Florida State University, Martinez began his career at AXA Advisors in 1991 after spending several years as a freelance script writer, music composer and production assistant for local advertising agencies and video production companies. As marketing director for AXA Advisors’ South Florida branch, Martinez’s responsibilities include implementing individual local and marketing programs and overseeing the branch’s internal and external communications including advertising, public relations, internal promotions and civic marketing.
Dedicated to the South Florida community, Martinez serves on the board of the Children’s Psychiatric Center and was co-chair of the eight and ninth annual AXA Advisors/Infants in Need charitable golf tournaments, which netted over $87,000 during his leadership. He also has served on
the advisory board of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Healthcare and Bioscience Committee, which joined AXA Advisors to expand the branch’s Health Care Heroes® recognition program which he helped to develop.
Additionally, Martinez has served as the campaign chairman for United Way for AXA Advisors’ United Way and under his leadership, the branch raised $100,000 in 1998 and over $300,000 in 1999. Additionally, in 2002, Martinez was instrumental in recovering and delivering the largest single grant in the history of the South Florida Branch – a $500,000 donation by AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company (in the name of AXA Advisors) to the Performing Arts Center of Miami.
Martinez remains active in the South Florida entertainment community as a voting member of the Florida Branch of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, which produces the televised Grammy® awards and helps bring music to public schools through its MusiCares® program.
Martinez resides in Miami with his wife, Michelle, and their son, Justin.
