Helpology: new science offers 'FREE help for all'
U.S. Marine Iraq war veteran helps strengthen America after 9/11.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 10, 2005 -- The Institute of Physics has named 2005 "Einstein Year," marking the 100th anniversary since Albert Einstein finished and published his major works on the theory of relativity in 1905. Einstein said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge." He also said, "The best system is the simplest one that works." A century later, Einstein's philosophical principles are now the foundation for a new social science called, Helpology - the study of the most helpful products and services.
Founder Dave Christian said he's on a lifelong mission to help strengthen America's future through Helpology.
After studying more than 500 self-help books by age 24, the Detroit-native wrote, self-published, and made an acknowledgement in his first self-improvement book to 'success coach' Tony Robbins, commenting, "Thank you for helping me learn how to help myself and others."
Christian said, "After being encouraged and motivated by Tony Robbins and Oprah Winfrey, I remember setting the unrealistic goal 'to become the most helpful person of all time.'"
More than 10 years later, today one of Christian's goals is "to help as many people as possible through Helpology."
Christian officially founded Helpology in January 2000 at age 30, while serving as a United States Marine public affairs specialist at Camp Pendleton, Calif. But his duties as a Marine were his top priority.
From Feb. through Aug. 2003, Christian served as a Marine sergeant photojournalist and television producer for 1st Force Service Support Group, Headquarters and Support Battalion, Camp Pendleton, in Kuwait and Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
A few months after returning home, Christian submitted a request for an early release from the Marine Corps to further his education at Biola University in Vista, Calif., where he could apply his new theory of Helpology.
His request was granted, and after being honorably discharged from the Corps Jan. 8, 2004, Christian founded Helpology.org that same month in Oceanside, Calif.
Christian is currently working toward a bachelor's of science degree in organizational leadership at Biola University in Vista, Calif. He plans to earn a Ph.D. in educational studies and write his doctoral dissertation on Helpology. Then he hopes to write the first textbook on Helpology and become the founding professor of Helpology, working to establish it as a formal academic social science in colleges and universities worldwide.
"My vision is for students everywhere to be able to take credit courses in Helpology and even become doctors of Helpology (H.D.) in the future," Christian said.
To help the most people possible, Christian also plans to host a national radio and TV talk show called, "Helpology with Dave Christian."
